The Rotary Club of
West Seattle

Shane Carew, President, Rotary Club of West Seattle, 2014-2015

Rotary is a fellowship of business and professional leaders with a common interest in philanthropy. Rotary's signature project is the eradication of Polio in the world.

Rotarians are engaged in thousands of other philanthropic projects worldwide, everything from water quality projects in Africa to projects for children in need in West Seattle.

But Rotary is about fellowship, too, not just philanthropy. Rotary has 1.2 million members in clubs in 165 countries, clubs where you are welcome, where you have an instant circle of friends.  All people, regardless of faith, color, creed, gender, political party or sexual orientation, who put "service above self" (the Rotary Motto) are welcome to join Rotary.

West Seattle Rotarians break the stereotype of "male, pale, and stale". Come join us at Salty's on Alki where we meet most every Tuesday noon! Enjoy the fellowship, lunch and speakers on fascinating topics of local, scholarly, and international interest. Find out about our Rotaract club, for young adults 18 to 32, and a nascent Interact club for students in middle school and high school which we hope to charter this year.
